The division of Student Affairs at the University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Associate Vice President/Dean of Students. This position provides leadership, oversight, and assistance with division-wide planning initiatives as assigned by the vice president, including but not limited to, strategic planning, diversity and inclusion, assessment, student retention, co-curricular learning, student engagement, and the implementation of best practices for the overall student experience. This position includes direct oversight of the departments of Housing & Residence Life and Student Conduct. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the Campus Assistance, Referral, and Evaluation (CARE) Team, university case-management, and the resolution of student complaints.
Minimum qualifications: Doctorate required in higher education administration, leadership, college student personnel, education, or a related area AND a minimum of eight full-time years of progressive experience in higher education; Minimum of five full-time years of experience in college student affairs, including student conduct, and housing/residence life; Professional staff development and supervision experience, required; Experience with crisis management, higher education strategic planning, budget oversight, and policy/procedure development is preferred; Active participation in professional organizations relating to higher education, preferred; and a willingness to participate in professional organizations related to the position, required.
