The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Complex Care Vice President is responsible for leading one of the largest programmatic investment areas and builds, fosters, and maintains strategic relationships with government entities, world-renowned researchers, and many other influencers in the mental and brain health space. The Complex Care Vice President provides strategic vision to and leads the various geographically dispersed teams of professionals focused on the Independence Program, Complex Case Coordination (C3) and Long-term Support programs. Additionally, this organizational executive leader manages organizational efforts related to WWP as a global thought leader and innovator in long term care for the most severely injured veterans. These efforts are aligned with strategic priorities and overall organizational strategy as it relates to complex care for the most severely injured veterans.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the complex care teams, including the independence program, complex case coordination (C3), and activities for the long-term support trust.
- Provide strategic leadership, vision, and a shared purpose for WWP’s approach to caring for warriors with complex medical care needs, to lead independent lives in their communities.
- Translate strategic objectives into operational goals and priorities, communicating effectively, and creating accountability for actions and deliverables.
- Implement the findings of complex research initiatives into impactful programs and partnerships through visionary leadership.
- Collaborate, develop, and serve as an integral part of various research initiatives and drive internal and external programming.
- Lead geographically dispersed teams focused on delivering high quality case coordination, VA/DOD interface and case management supervision.
- Establish strong and effective relationships with third-party case management entities, as well as VA National and VISN level leadership.
- Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with other organizations (non-profit, government, and for-profit) that deliver high quality care in the areas of brain health (mental health, brain injury, etc.).
- Represent the organization in front of government leaders for legislative initiatives related to veterans’ long term complex care needs.
- Present WWP vision and values to potential partners, describing the benefits of WWP programs and services, and inspire them to contribute to WWP vision.
- Possess the confidence and ability to present WWP’s impact, research, partnerships, etc., at various academic, scientific, and other various conferences as a solo presenter, part of a panelist, or moderator.
- Provide fiduciary oversight and manage operating budget of the brain health portfolio.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with other WWP leaders as part of the WWP Executive team.
- Analyze and report performance metrics for complex care programs, providing quarterly scorecards and reports on programs’ achievements and status.
- Other related duties as assigned.
