Vaccine Protocol

Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA), the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Administration serves as a member of the VPSA Council and Division of Student Affairs Leadership Team.

The Division’s sixteen departments are responsible for programs, services and resources designed to promote the growth and well-being of students, ensure the availability of a rich co-curricular experience for students, support and enrich the University’s educational mission, and to effectively meet the needs of a diverse student population and workforce. The AVP will directly supervise the focus areas of Data & Analytics, Information Technology, Assessment, Human Resources/Professional Development, and Finance & Business. The AVP leads divisional administrative strategic planning efforts by aligning resources with strategic plans and priorities. The AVP manages all policy and audit processes, ensuring that the division complies with relevant federal, state and university policies and procedures. The AVP is responsible for advising the VPSA and VPSA Council on decisions related to financial and human resources, information technology, data and analytics, assessment and professional development.

The AVP will serve as an advisor to the Vice President and confer with her on the Division’s policy support and special projects. In addition, the AVP will support and represent the Vice President in both internal and external matters and assist with the management of nearly 5000 employees (1,500 staff employees and 3500 student employees) and a $240 million budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 12 years of progressive experience in administration
  • Leadership, management, and organizational development experience
  • Significant supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to build teams
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Work takes place in both an office environment and in on-campus buildings; will require ability to travel throughout campus.
